NEW DELHI: Union minister Hardeep Puri said on
Saturday that more than 7,300 families have been given
ownership rights and that more than 4.1 lakh people have signed up for the PM-Unauthorized Colony in Delhi Awas
Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) so far. On October 29, 2019, PM-UDAY was
launched to give people in 1,731
unauthorized colonies (UCs) in Delhi the right to own their homes.
Under PM-UDAY, 4,19,485 people have signed up, and so far, 7,329 families in
Delhi’s unofficial colonies have been
given ownership rights. Puri, who is in charge of housing and cities, sent out a tweet in Hindi.
He also shared a two-part video from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) that
shows people step-by-step how to sign up online.
The only way to sign up for this programme is online.
In the video, it says that if a person can’t do it at home, he or she can go to the nearest
Common Service Centre (CSC) or call a registered
agency that has been approved to help people register for a small fee.
The DDA is in charge of the scheme, which uses satellite images from 2015 to define the boundaries
of these UCs with the help of the Survey of India and the Revenue Department of the Delhi government.
Puri said, “We said we would do something, and we did it.”
“Now, people living in unapproved colonies won’t have to worry about
bulldozers or anything else because they will have ownership rights. The process to sign up is very easy, “he said.
Under the plan, the DDA will look over documents and give out conveyance deeds for
government lands and authorization slips for
private lands that can only be used for living.
The sub-office registrar’s is where the people
who will get these documents can get them registered.
